I was expecting everyone to die in the end, but instead it turned out a romance. My favorite episode is from the second month February A Choice of Witnesses.
Venus has always been a tricky, tempestuous goddess for those who are aware of mythology. An unlucky gambler consents to a marriage for wealth and carelessly places the wedding ring on a Venus statuette. The situation turns tricky when the goddess comes to life and asks for his heart or his life. Family genealogy research gets a man into trouble with the IRA who believe he is from the police. The classic Bram Stoker tale retold. A young girl is progressively being drained of her life-force and must stake the responsible vampire to save herself.
An attempted patricide by the son who tries to hypnotize his sister to carry out the actual deed. Russian roulette, anyone? A high stake gambler finds the game getting the better of him as his new club demands him to murder someone, or choose suicide. A thought projection experiment takes a deadly turn as a scientist takes an extreme step and subjects his wife's subconscious to the process to persuade her to kill him!

The apparition of a dead producer Peter Truro returns to haunt the actor Jason Phillips through his television set. The ghost repeatedly asks him to murder his wife Claire. The irate Jason is forced to consult a medium and a psychiatrist but soon gives way to believing the apparition. He must utilize all his resources to save Claire every time Truro aggressively frames the circumstances. A luckless man is offered every material comfort in the world through free cars, houses and monetary wealth by a millionaire.
The latter only wants to swap their souls in exchange so he can regain his youth. The Trouble with Ruth. Despite her best attempts, a kleptomaniac falls back into her old ways and is found out by some thieves. They blackmail her to rob a diamond pin or they will reveal her true nature to her husband.
The Crack in the Wall. A house fire claims the life of the young daughter of the house. Her bereft parents move to a new apartment but cannot seem to repair a hole in their basement wall. Gradually, cries of a voice that seems startlingly like their daughter's begins to flow through the hole.

Some of the episodes may fall a bit short at times, but overall this is probably the very last successful attempt to bring the old classic radio drama to the "modern" airwaves. Marshall as the narrator was brilliant.
I listen to these again and again, and despite being decades beyond the classic radio days, it never ceases to amaze me how much they resurrect the ambience and atmosphere and drama of them.

I set the sleep timer then listen to an episode as I drift off to sleep, the tinnitus totally masked. So many good voice actors I particularly like Terry Kean and Fred Gwynn.

For whatever reason, when you download all as one, it's like a slot machine. You might get all the correct files, and then, you might get several duplicates. This is because Archive. I was in a rush and downloaded the whole zip at once but when I extracted it there was a huge problem. Out of 28 zip files only 8 had the episodes in the title, the other 20 files were all duplicates of the file.
I have no clue why this happened but I am curious exactly how this could happen. Could anyone figure this out? This was last month. Thank you for archiving this treasure chest. It's great that many voice actors had a chance to use their talent again. In fact, after you've listen to a lot of episodes, you can tell that some of the younger actors simply aren't as good as the veterans.
One of the best is Leon Janney. Janney appeared in a LOT of episodes, until he stroked out suddenly in He did many multiple roles and a lot of uncredited appearances, too.
